No. It's a self-assessment workspace — the criteria as a checklist, your answers written and stored alongside them, and an export you take into the assessment. LevelSixLabs is not affiliated with or endorsed by UCL, UKRI or My Green Lab, and does not submit, assess or award anything. Criteria are summarised in our own words; always check your answers against the official versions on the awarding body's own platform.

No — deliberately. We don't produce certified carbon figures. The dashboard shows real operational indicators — utilisation, sharing and surplus — that support your reporting.

You work through the Bronze, Silver or Gold criteria in the app, grouped by category, writing under each how your lab meets it. Optionally, one switch pulls live figures from your own chemical, sample, equipment and maintenance records against the criteria they evidence — each with a note stating exactly what was counted. Then export the lot as a PDF. It supports your submission; it isn't the assessment.

Roughly a third of them — concentrated in equipment and sample/chemical management, which are the ones labs find hardest to evidence. Cataloguing coverage, equipment booking and sharing, cold-storage maintenance, servicing and calibration, fault handling, surplus redistribution and labelling. Each figure states exactly what was counted, and where you have nothing recorded it says so rather than showing a number. The rest are yours to write, and we don't pretend otherwise.

Yes. SPARKHub is UKRI's open-access scheme and its certification is live. We carry eleven of its sixteen research areas — wet labs, chemical sciences, life sciences, diagnostic and clinical labs, animal facilities, imaging, mass spectrometry, clinical trial units, Drosophila labs, digital (Green DiSC), and offices and travel — with every action carrying its published SPARK-ACTION reference. We don't carry the workshop and sports-science areas, and the app says so rather than letting the gap look like full coverage.

Yes, as a preparation checklist. My Green Lab certifies through its own assessment, which your lab completes on My Green Lab's platform, and it sets your level — Bronze to Green — from the score. So rather than invent a list per level, we give you one checklist of green-lab practices grouped by the areas My Green Lab names (cold storage, energy, fume cupboards, water, waste, green chemistry, purchasing and engagement), in our own words, with live figures from your records where they genuinely apply. Once you're certified, record the certificate at its real level.

Yes — a LEAF, My Green Lab or SPARKHub award. Record it with its date, renewal date and reference, and upload the certificate — it's stored privately and only your organisation can open it. The medal then appears on the dashboard for everyone in the lab, and you get a warning before the renewal falls due.

From your real activity over the last 90 days — your bookings and equipment records. Utilisation uses an explicitly-stated capacity assumption shown on the page. Waste disposal is recorded in its own register rather than folded into these figures.

Flag a piece of equipment as surplus and, if your organisation opts in, refer it to a redistribution partner (e.g. UniGreenScheme) through a pre-filled email. It's opt-in and never sent automatically.
