Export from your current tool
Every inventory system can produce a CSV or Excel export. ChemInventory, Quartzy, a shared spreadsheet — whatever you have now, that file is all we need.

Drop it in — we read the columns
We recognise the column names those exports use (container size, sublocation, CAS, catalogue number, expiry) and map them for you. Nothing is renamed by hand.

Review before anything is saved
You see exactly which columns matched, which were skipped and how many rows are ready. Import only happens when you say so.

Hazard data fills itself in
Chemicals imported with a CAS number can pull GHS hazard codes and pictograms from PubChem, so a bare inventory list becomes COSHH-ready without extra typing.
What comes across
These fields are matched automatically from a typical inventory export. Columns we don't recognise are listed as skipped rather than guessed at.
- Chemical names, CAS numbers and formulae

Migration questions, answered
Do I have to retype my inventory?+
No. Upload the export from your current system and the columns are mapped automatically. The only manual step is glancing at the mapping before you confirm the import.
What if my spreadsheet has unusual column names?+
We match hundreds of common variants (CAS, CAS #, CAS Registry Number, and so on). Anything we can't place is shown to you as skipped, so you can rename that column and re-upload — no data is silently dropped.
Can I import equipment as well as chemicals?+
Yes. Equipment has its own importer with the same column-matching, so an asset register or instrument list comes across the same way.
What happens to my hazard and SDS information?+
Hazard codes in your export are imported as-is. For rows with a CAS number, LevelSixLabs can look up GHS classification and pictograms from PubChem, and you can attach SDS files per chemical afterwards.
Is my data locked in if I later change my mind?+
No. You can export your full inventory to CSV or Excel at any time from inside the app. We think switching away should be as easy as switching in.
Can someone do the migration for me?+
